Question by Tracy S: How does California State disability work with having a premature baby?
I was put on bed rest and just started collecting Short term disability from the state of California. I had my daughter 6 weeks early. How does that affect my disability pay? Do I still only get 6 weeks? What other options do I have?

You would need to ask the dep’t of SS about that. I imagine u can only get the disability payments whlst u are covered under a medical certificate.If u r an unemployed single parent then maybe u can get payments for that. good luck.

Defying disability

www.ntvuganda.co.ug The saying that disability is not inability may be a cliche but that truism rings even louder for an 18-year old youngman in Soroti district in eastern Uganda who is determined to succeed despite his circumstances. Born without arms, Emmanuel Akongel has not let this seeming disadvantage deter him from leading an active and fruitful life. He uses his feet to cook, clean and accomplish many other tasks just like other people do with their hands.

I almost didn’t post this. It’s really scary opening up and sharing my weakness with people. But I know that it can help some of you who are going through a similar experience. Or at least educate people who might not understand how hard it can be for someone in that situation. There was a lot more I wanted to say in this video, but its hard for me to express what I want to say verbally sometimes.
